Qualcomm held its press conference at CES 2022 to announce the Snapdragon Digital Chassis, a suite of hardware-software solutions designed in collaboration with the automakers that will power the vehicles of tomorrow.

With the Snapdragon Digital Chassis, Qualcomm promises to deliver a “seamlessly connected, intelligent experience that is safer, smarter, and more immersive” for the bright future of driving, which will probably be driverless.

The Snapdragon Digital Chassis is comprised of four customizable and updateable cloud-connected platforms based on a unified architecture, that support a suite of safety and digital features for the automotive industry.

The Snapdragon Ride Platform is an open and programmable platform that helps the automotive industry to deliver Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS) Level 2+/ Level 3, and compliant with the  New Car Assessment Program (NCAP), the government car safety program.

The key features of the solutions in this package are:  a portfolio of processors (SoCs) and accelerators for vision, central compute, and automated driving, a turnkey Arriver based vision stack, a full set of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS)/AD features within a flexible architecture that allows the automotive industry to bring its own Drive Policy, parking or driver monitoring stack, advanced navigation that can be integrated with Arriver Drive Policy elements.

The Snapdragon Cockpit Platform provides customizable always-connected

SoC and virtualized software solutions that enable the development of a multi-display, multi-camera, premium audio, video, and multimedia experience.

The Snapdragon Auto Connectivity Platform delivers high-performance in-car connectivity with LTE, 5G, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth to enable cellular vehicle-to-everything (C-V2X), precise positioning, 5G-based services, and securely connect vehicles to the cloud, each other, and the surrounding environment.

Snapdragon Car-to-Cloud Services is a suite of pre-integrated software and services platforms designed for performance upgrades and new monetization models.
