Smart speakers and smart displays are becoming a lot more common these days. This is because as more of us start to add smart appliances to our home, these smart speakers and displays are giving us new and better ways to control and manage them without us having to lift a finger.
If you’re interested in getting yourself a new smart display, then you might be interested to learn that Lenovo has recently announced the Lenovo Smart Clock Essential with Alexa Built-In. As the name suggests, this is a smart display that doubles as an alarm clock and also features Alexa integration.
This means that if you have any smart home devices that can be controlled using Alexa, then you will be able to control it using your voice through this alarm clock. The device features an LED display but unlike more traditional smart speakers we’ve seen, it appears that this display is only used to display the time, and there is no built-in webcam which is good news for those who might be concerned about privacy.
Speaking about privacy, the clock also has a mute switch to disable the microphones if you prefer. As it is also a speaker, users will be able to use it to stream their favorite tunes or listen to their podcasts right next to their bed. For those who want a bit of night light, Lenovo is also selling the Ambient Light Dock that you can place the Smart Clock Essential on top of.
The Lenovo Smart Clock Essential with Alexa Built-In is priced at $60 and will be available later this month, while the Ambient Light Dock is priced at $30 and will be available in Q2 2022.
