Earlier this year, Kensington launched the StudioDock for the iPad. It’s basically a stand that comes with a host of ports that lets you turn your iPad into a pseudo iMac of sorts. It is pretty cool, but unfortunately it does not support the 2021 iPad Pro due to the fact that the tablet is slightly thicker than its predecessors.

For those who own the 2021 iPad Pro, you’re in luck because Kensington has since announced that the StudioDock has been updated and will now support the 2021 iPad Pro with a new model.

In case you were wondering, the StudioDock connects to the iPad via a USB-C connector built into the right side of the dock. Due to the design of the dock, it could only accommodate earlier iPad models, but unfortunately the 0.5mm extra thickness of the 2021 iPad Pro meant that it would not fit. This new model has been slightly modified so it will be compatible.

As for the ports, we’re looking at three USB-A ports, a 4K HDMI 2.0 port, a Gigabit Ethernet port, a USB-C port, a 3.5mm audio jack, and there will also be an SD card reader. There is also built-in wireless charging on the front for an iPhone and AirPods.

As for pricing, the StudioDock is not cheap starting at $380, but if you reckon that this will be immensely useful for your needs, then head on over to Kensington’s website for the details.
