When it comes to headphones and earphones, Sony is no stranger to that market. However, the company has since officially launched the LinkBuds which we think is quite a departure in terms of design that we typically expect from the company, but whether or not it’s good or bad will depend on your preference.

As you can see in the photo above, the LinkBuds are a pair of earbuds that features a ring where the earbuds would typically go into your ear. Apparently this creates a more comfortable experience that would let you wear the earbuds all day long, plus the fact that it doesn’t completely plug your ears means that you can also remain aware of your surroundings and when people talk to you.

The earbuds will feature the use of Sony’s in-house Integrated Processor V1 and will also sport a 12mm ring driver, and it also comes with built-in support for gestures and is smart enough to detect when you’re speaking to someone and can pause the music when you do, which is actually rather cool.

The earbuds also come with IPX4 support so getting it a bit sweaty while you workout shouldn’t be a problem. The earbuds themselves offer 5.5 hours per charge and comes with a charging carrying case that holds an additional 12 more hours. For those who are interested, the Sony LinkBuds are priced at €180/£150 and are expected to be available for purchase this month.
