Just like how oil and water do not mix, so too, water and consumer electronics devices loathe one another. It makes sense, really, but there are exceptions to the rule as usual, with some manufacturers preferring to beef up their products to be able to withstand being submerged and working perfectly fine – at least for a while. Sony continues this trend with their Handycam HDR-GW77V that is waterproof, allowing you to capture images and record videos when underwater without missing a beat. This little camcorder will carry 16GB of storage space, a 3″ touchscreen display, 1080/60p and 60i AVCHD videos recording at 28Mbps, a GPS chipset that would most probably come in handy for geotagging purposes, and just in case the 16GB of internal memory is not enough, there is always an SDXC memory card slot to further augment your memory needs. It is waterproof up to 5 meters for an hour, anything deeper and it is going to sleep with the fishes as water pressure ought to break it seal then.
