Eton Scorpion for outdoor enthusiasts

[CES 2010] Eton knows that nobody can predict an emergency, which is why it is always better to be prepared in any situation. With that in mind, their upcoming device, the Eton Scorpion, will target those who love the great outdoors and yet don’t want to be disconnected from their gizmos and gadgets. This is made possible thanks to a built-in battery which can be powered via two ways – through the hand crank or via its solar panel, although we would say the hand crank works much better unless you need to conserve your energy while waiting for a rescue team to arrive after being lost in the forest for a month. It is splash-proof (don’t let it swim with you now, y’hear?) and comes in a rugged external case which is relatively lightweight. Capable of delivering the latest detailed weather conditions via the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) weather bands, you also have an audio line input that lets you listen to your favorite tunes while you’re outdoors. Apart from that, additional features include an aluminum carabiner clip, a bottle opener and LED flashlight to help you along in your adventure. To be released later in Q1 this year, the Eton Scorpion will retail for $50.
