There are many messenger services out there, and WhatsApp is one of the most popular options today. However, unlike its competition, WhatsApp does not offer a tablet version of its app, despite the fact that many are asking for it as it can help users who switch from device to device.

Given how the iPad allows users to send and receive iMessages and make and take phone calls, why not WhatsApp too, right? The good news is that WhatsApp isn’t ruling that possibility out. During an interview with WABetaInfo, WhatsApp CEO Will Cathcart seemed to suggest that the company was open to bringing the app onto iPads.

According to Cathcart, he mentioned that the company would love to support the iPad and while he did not confirm it, he hinted that this would depend on the success of its multi-device support which will be rolling out as part of WhatsApp’s public beta next week. We have been hearing about multi-device support for a while now through WABetaInfo, so it’s good to see that the company has confirmed it.

We’re not sure how much has changed in the feature since it was first reported back in 2020, but for those who are in the public beta, this could be something to look forward to next week.
