With the flop of the iPhone 5c, we’re sure many were skeptical of the iPhone XR when the device was launched last year. However, apart from the color options, the iPhone XR proved itself to be nothing like the iPhone 5c where it actually outsold the flagship iPhone XS and XS Max models.

This is why we have to say that we are pretty excited when Apple announced its successor in the form of the iPhone 11. This is because Apple has made some pretty decent improvements to the handset that combine it with its relatively affordable price, makes it a good value-for-money handset.

The iPhone 11 will be powered by Apple’s very own A13 Bionic chipset. It will continue to sport the same display size as before and will also continue to use LCD instead of OLED, but if you don’t think you’ll be able to tell the difference, then this isn’t a big deal.

One of the biggest improvements the iPhone 11 has over its predecessor is in its camera department, where Apple has upgraded its single-camera system to a dual camera system. This means that in the past, the iPhone XR had to largely rely on software to achieve similar effects as the iPhone XS and XS Max, but now it won’t have to.

It will feature a 12MP wide-angle camera with an f/1.8 aperture and optical image stabilization. It will also be accompanied by another 12MP ultra-wide camera that in the demo, Apple showed that it was capable of taking some truly impressive landscape photos as well as some portrait photos with unique perspectives.

Apple is also boasting how the phone’s camera will offer semantic rendering that can intelligently detect subjects and lights them up better for more clarity and details. It also appears that Apple wants to take on Google with their own Night Mode. The front-facing camera has also been upgraded to a 12MP sensor and where it will also support 4K video recording and slow-mo video.

Other features coming to the iPhone 11 include new color options, a glass and aluminum design where the front and back of the phone has been covered in glass. It will also feature spatial audio with Dolby Atmos support. Apple is also boasting improvements in battery life where it will last an additional hour over the iPhone XR.

As for pricing, here’s where it gets really interesting. The iPhone XR was priced at $749 and it was expected that the iPhone 11 would be priced the same as well. However, Apple actually dropped the price where the iPhone 11 will be available starting from $699, shaving $50 off the price tag.
